We currently accept all of the following insurances: BCBS, FL Blue, Aetna, Medicare, Anthem, UBH, UHC, OPTUM, United, UMR, Cigna, Tricare (OON), AvMed, All Savers, Evernorth, Golden Rule, Oscar, Oxford, Surest (formerly Bind), and Humana. If you don't see your insurance listed, check back, we are always expanding the insurances that we are paneled on. **Different providers at this practice may accept some but not all of these insurances. Please look at the individual provider's profile on the "Providers" tab to see what insurances that provider is listed as taking at this time.
A sliding scale is a range of reduced prices from the full rate of service. If Latorre Counseling Center does not take your insurance or you are choosing to not use your insurance and the full rate of service is too high, please identify when you contact us that you want to explore the sliding scale fee structure. Given that we cannot determine for you what is a feasible amount to pay for services, the person that you discuss the sliding scale fee with will give you a range of prices that Latorre Counseling Center can provide your identified service for, you then name your own price on the scale based off of your honest assessment of what feels financially right for you and your family.
A Superbill is an itemized list of all services provided to you by Latorre Counseling Center which you may in turn provide to your insurance company as a means of seeking reimbursement if your insurance is out of network or not currently accepted by Latorre Counselling Center. We can and will provide you with a Superbill upon request.
Latorre Counseling Center is an outpatient only counseling center and does not provide emergency services or crisis care at this time. It is the firm belief of Latorre Counseling Center that your growth is best facilitated at the appropriate level of care for your needs. If your needs exceed being able to maintain stability between appointments to a point of needing crisis and emergency care, your provider will refer you to a higher level of care such as Intensive Outpatient, Patrial Hospitalization, Residential Care, or Inpatient Care depending on level of need assessed and determined. In the meantime, if you or your loved one is in a general emergency or crisis, call 911. If you or your loved one is struggling with thoughts of suicide, you may call 988 for the Suicide and Crisis Lifeline.
If the provider that you want to see is currently on a waitlist, this means that all available appointment slots for that provider are full at this time. When a provider at Latorre Counseling Center takes on a new patient, that patient is set up with a standing appointment time block so that their session is always guaranteed until they have met their goals. Growth is not linear and while our clinicians can work with you to set deadlines and goal timeframes, completion estimates of ones time in counseling cannot be 100% accurate. As such, instead of potentially putting an existing patient in the position to feel rushed or a prospective patient being given false information, you will be placed on a waitlist with a general expectation of the wait time being based off of days and times that you are hoping to be seen in combination with how many people may be ahead of you on the list for the same days and times. More popular times such as evening appointments will have longer waits, and people with more flexibility with the days and times that they can be seen can expect shorter waits.
Your first step will be best served by looking at our "Providers" tab to see which providers could be a good fit for you. Your next step will be to contact us to either set up with the provider that you selected for a free 15 minute consultation, an appointment, or to join our waitlist for that provider if they are on a waitlist. Before anyone is officially scheduled for an appointment, you will be sent forms to fill out. Until your forms are completed and sent in fully completed, you will not be placed on the schedule. Your spot on the providers calendar is not guaranteed until you have completed your forms in full, sent them back, and received confirmation that you are scheduled. This is to avoid any misunderstandings on the front end, ensure that we have your insurance information and personal information ahead of time in order to ensure that your benefits will be used and payment will be accurate, an accurate co-pay (if applicable) is provided to you ahead of time, you are aware of all the practices policies ahead of time, and your provider has enough base information to go off of in order to make your first session as smooth as possible.
Latorre Counseling Center's cancelation policy is that all patients must cancel their session 24 hours before their appointment in order to not be charged a no-show fee. Given that 24 hours or less ahead of time is too late to allow another perspective, waiting, or wanting patient to take up the same spot, the full agreed upon fee for the service that you are provided is what will be charged for canceling a session at or less than 24 hours in advanced of your scheduled appointment.
Contrary to popular belief, the individual provider's full private pay fee has nothing to do with what your co-pay will be. Your co-pay is determined by your individual policy's coverage and is the same for any in-network provider for the same service code and same service type. Whether you see a different provider at Latorre Counselling Center or outside of Latorre Counseling Center, you should be paying the same co-pay rate for the same kind of service under the same policy. In order to get an accurate co-pay rate, you will need to fill out your Welcome Forms sent to you ahead of scheduling an appointment with our providers so that our team can verify your benefits and provide you with your plans co-pay rate for the service you selected.
Many people who have never done group counseling, or only attended lecture based groups at a facility, often don't see the purpose or point of attending group therapy. It is common for people to think, "I have many of my own problems and needs that I want to talk about without wanting to share my time with the counselor or add to my problems by hearing what another person has going on". It is true that group therapy may not be for everyone, or even right for you at this point in your healing journey if you are identifying a need for more one on one time. Group therapy can be a very healing part of your journey that can lead to growth and development that no amount of one on one time with a counselor can provide. The unique growth opportunities in a group setting can be, but are not limited to, being able to receive feedback and growth opportunities around your ability to interact with others, maintain relationships with others, communicate yourself with others, and other such patterns and behaviors that become more apparent when you are in a group setting. Often times, individuals seek individual counseling to work on addressing struggles that appear in their own group settings outside of the office such as in their family, at work, at school, or in the friend groups. Individual counseling can only help you grow and develop so far due to the limited window of the therapist only having your one on one interactions and self-report to go off of, the group therapy setting can bring to light blind spots that are harder to assess or address in individual counseling, which can lead to more accelerated and meaningful growth for individuals who are ready to take on such challenges in their therapeutic journey.
Any time can be the right time to seek couples counseling as long as you and your partner(s) are in agreement of being ready to take on the journey of couples counseling. Whether you are wanting to do pre-emptive work to set the relationship up on a good path, engage in pre-martial counseling to ensure a continued health of the relationship after marriage, pre-baby or counseling for new parents to get assistance with compromise and facilitation of healthy co-parenting, having difficulties in the relationship and needing help to grow together instead of apart, or even divorced or divorcing couples to seek assistance with having a healthy separation or develop healthy co-parenting, couples counseling can be a great place to work toward your shared goals. Any time can be a good time to seek couples counseling as long as all parties are in agreeance to attending and are in agreeance with the same target goal.
Individual Counseling will look different depending on who you are seeing, the relationship between you and your therapist, what your chief concerns are, and the individual treatment plan that you co-create with your therapist. That being said, some things will be consistent no matter what. You can expect to see your therapist for the therapy hour of 53 minutes, as long as you arrive on or ahead of time. You will be treated with dignity, respect, and your wishes honored. "No" is a complete sentence in our office and will be respected with no questions asked at any point and time. You can expect to be seen, listened to, and viewed from an individual perspective as opposed to a one size fits all mentality. You can expect to be seen only by providers who are licensed or license eligible in the state of Florida with the appropriate certifications listed on their profile page. All Latorre Counseling Center providers are carefully screened to ensure that they align with the inclusive environment that we promise to provide. All providers are also screened to provide Evidence Based Care practices only.
Evidence Based Care means that we provide care that aligns with the most current and up to date practices that are rooted in scientific evidence of efficacy for your presenting concerns.
Generally speaking, both at Latorre Counseling Center and outside, the letter behind the names of any prospective counselor that you look into designates that specific degree, certifications, and state licensure status.
