Nancy has always been passionate about understanding patterns and systems. Before becoming a counselor, she studied molecular biology and chemistry, driven by a desire to comprehend the complex interactions within nature and the human body. Her years of research on chemical interactions within cells led her to seek a deeper understanding of personal and interpersonal connection.
She is grateful for her research background, as it informs her holistic approach to counseling and her appreciation for the interconnectedness of the brain and body. She holds a Bachelor’s of Science in Biology from Duke University and a Master’s of Arts in Counseling from Covenant Theological Seminary where she graduated summa cum laude.
She is dedicated to creating a warm and empathetic therapeutic space where clients are supported to grow and heal. She has extensive experience in working with individuals and couples, and is passionate about work with Anxiety, OCD, Eating Disorders, Trauma and Self Esteem/Self worth issues. She deeply loves working with adults, adolescents and young adults exploring periods of self discovery and change. Nancy’s style blends empathy with analysis and gentle challenge, assisting and empowering clients to change patterns, foster healthy connections within themselves and others and develop coping skills and resilience. She is trained in and utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Rational Emotive Behavioral Therapy (REBT), Psychodynamic Therapy and Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP).
Nancy currently has open books to see people. Her hours are Thursday 12pm-2pm (Virtual only), Fridays 2pm-6pm, and Saturdays 1pm-6pm.
Private Pay Rates: $140 per hour for Individual Sessions.
Nancy strives to provide a warm, empathetic, and supportive environment for her clients. She aims to ensure that clients feel heard, seen, understood, and safe as they explore and heal from emotional patterns and pain. Nancy’s goal is to accompany her clients through both difficult and joyful moments, always validating their experiences and gently encouraging growth. The counseling sessions are designed to be a space for authenticity and vulnerability, where clients can feel, explore, and deepen their understanding and acceptance of themselves.
Outside the office, Nancy enjoys lifting weights and running, finding joy in curiosity about her abilities and in the ongoing pursuit of athletic training. She also loves reading and can spend an entire day immersed in a book. Nancy cherishes time with her Australian Shepherd dog and her husband, often adventuring outdoors or relaxing together at home. Whether pursuing athletic goals, reading, or spending time with loved ones, she approaches life with wholehearted curiosity and joy.
